Pastor Richard Kerr became pastor of Trinity Baptist Church on June 1st of 2007. He was born and raised in Oklahoma and graduated in 1970 as part of the first graduating class of Putnam City West High School. He joined the U. S. Navy during the Summer of 1970 and served for 4 years. During that time he married his high school sweetheart, Vicki McCullah. They have 5 children, 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Pastor Kerr spent 15 years teaching in Christian schools in the Oklahoma City area. He taught elementary classes for 4 years and then high school Math and Sciences as well as spending 8 years in administration and coaching basketball. During this time he served as Youth Director, Music Director, Children’s Pastor and Associate Pastor on a part-time basis.
Trinity is Pastor Kerr’s fourth pastorate, having served in Altus, Medford and Slaughterville, all in Oklahoma.
Chris Thrower has been serving at Trinity Baptist Church since September of 2016. As an alumni of Morris High school, he loves the community and is excited about serving God in his hometown. Currently he is finishing his bachelor’s degree at OSUIT in Okmulgee and will graduate in August of 2018.
His life in ministry began in February 2014 as a missionary with Flame of Fire Ministry, an evangelistic ministry based in Malawi, Africa under the leadership of Craig Hobbs. After coming back from Malawi, he served at Brush Hill Baptist Church in Checotah, Oklahoma for over two years before being called to Trinity Baptist. Chris is also joined in ministry with his wife Lisa, having been married since August of 2015.
Sarah Jindra became the church secretary in September of 2016. Sarah came with 10 years experience in the administrative field. With a passion for missions, she also leads our children's Mission Ignition program on Wednesday evenings.
Sarah was born in Henryetta, but raised near Lincoln, Nebraska. She is a graduate of Raymond Central High School and attended Doane College. She returned home to Oklahoma in 2011 with her husband, Nick, and their children. Sarah has been a member of Trinity Baptist Church since 2012.
